Job Description
The Union Liaison is a senior Outreach position for the PSE&G programs. The Union Liaison will work in a team environment with New Jersey local electrical, mechanical, labor and other unions, with our client, trade allies, and PSE&G utility customers to deliver the commercial energy efficiency programs to eligible customers. The Union Liaison will serve as the main Point of Contact between the unions, the public, local program management, internal project teams and the client. The Union Liaison is responsible for tracking Union participation against program targets, weekly/monthly/annual reporting of participation, develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client satisfaction goals/objectives. Job Responsibilities
- Promote PSE&G’s Business Energy Saver Program through community outreach and engagement.
- Research and identify local NJ unions that are qualified to participate within PSE&G’s Business Energy Saver Program.
- Conduct visits to various unions to connect with members and key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), mechanical unions, and affiliated entities.
- Collaborate with existing Trade Ally Network and foster partnerships between Trade Allies and union affiliates.
- Manage union affiliated Trade Ally network including project support and pipeline development.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to educate decision-makers about the benefits of PSE&G’s Business Energy Saver Program.
- Ability to track and report on engagement efforts within Client Relationship Management (CRM) Ensure program targets regarding union participation are achieved.
- Provide feedback and manage continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with unions or within union-focused organizations; high preference to electrical and mechanical unions.
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges and needs of the union community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively present information to diverse audiences, including union members, representatives, and community partners.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with various decision-makers.
- Dedicated approach to advocacy and support.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings or weekends as needed to attend meetings/events and/or program activities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and collaboratively with all levels of staff, participants, and community members, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Comfort and ease in facilitating groups of community stakeholders.
- Outstanding people/interpersonal, collaboration, and advocacy skills.
Work Location
- Office located in New Brunswick, NJ. Requires some travel to meet program/client needs.
Working Remote Requirements
- TRC will provide the computer equipment required to perform the work. TRC will not provide printers. Equipment supplied by TRC is to be used for business purposes and will be maintained by TRC. An inventory of all TRC IT equipment received by each candidate will be provided and candidates receiving IT equipment agree to take appropriate ac.on to protect the items from damage or theD. Upon termina.on of assignment, all Company IT equipment will be returned to the TRC.
- Consistent with TRC’s expecta.ons on informa.on security, candidates must adhere to all Company policies for acceptable use and protec.on of Company equipment, systems, networks, and informa.on. Candidates are responsible for securing compu.ng equipment, protec.ng logged-in computers from accidental or inten.onal misuse, and using extra care when handling Company and customer proprietary and confiden.al informa.on, in both digital and paper forms. All measures should be taken to ensure that the Company is not unreasonably exposed to cybersecurity threats or loss of informa.on. Candidates are prohibited from using publicly accessible wi-fi when working on TRC computer equipment. USB devices will be blocked on all TRC computer equipment.
- Candidate will be responsible for securing an adequate internet connection (speed, security, and bandwidth) and phone service to effectively perform the essen.al du.es of the job. Phone service can be cell service. Internet and phone service are at the candidate’s expense.
- Candidates will be responsible for maintaining their home offices so that they can accomplish their work in an efficient, safe, and expeditious manner. TRC will not be responsible for costs associated with the setup of the candidate's home office to include remodeling, furniture such as desks, chairs or file cabinets, and ligh.ng or repairs or modifications to the home office space. TRC accepts no responsibility for damage or repairs to candidate-owned equipment.
