Frequently Asked Questions
About the Clean Energy Jobs Program
Who is eligible to participate in the Clean Energy Jobs Program?
You must be a New Jersey resident to apply for jobs through the Clean Energy Jobs Program.
I don't have any experience in the clean energy industry. Am I eligible to participate?
Yes! In fact, it's encouraged. The purpose of the program is to prepare job seekers for careers in New Jersey's fast-growing energy efficiency sector. To meet the growing need for skilled workers in this industry, the program includes training and support to help you succeed. Opportunities are available for individuals seeking entry-level positions, as well as for people who already have years of professional experience in clean energy or another field.
What type of work is available?
You may be surprised at how many different kinds of jobs there are in the clean energy industry. Rewarding work is available in many fields, such as analytics, building equipment and technology (installations and repairs), business intelligence, construction, customer service, engineering, finance, information technology (IT), marketing, operations, quality assurance, and sales. Visit the Find Jobs page to see what's available in your area.
How can I participate in training that's provided by the program?
The Clean Energy Jobs Program has established partnerships with a number of clean energy organizations throughout New Jersey. If you are hired through the program, please inquire with your employer about their involvement and how you can benefit from the available training opportunities.
If you apply to and are accepted into the PSE&G-sponsored On-the-Job Training Program, you will earn a paycheck while participating in a 16-week training that provides valuable energy efficiency skills and experience, as well as relevant certifications. Job placement will be determined following successful completion of the On-the-Job Training Program. Training and career placement will only occur through the program’s partner suppliers—not with PSE&G. The next recruitment cycle for on-the-job training has not yet been announced. Please check back regularly for updates.
