Who is eligible to participate in the Clean Energy Jobs Program?
You must be a New Jersey resident to apply for jobs through the Clean Energy Jobs Program.
I don't have any experience in the clean energy industry. Am I eligible to participate?
Yes! In fact, it's encouraged. The purpose of the program is to prepare job seekers for careers in New Jersey's fast-growing energy efficiency sector. To meet the growing need for skilled workers in this industry, the program includes training and support to help you succeed. Opportunities are available for individuals seeking entry-level positions, as well as for people who already have years of professional experience in clean energy or another field.
What type of work is available?
You may be surprised at how many different kinds of jobs there are in the clean energy industry. Rewarding work is available in many fields, such as analytics, building equipment and technology (installations and repairs), business intelligence, construction, customer service, engineering, finance, information technology (IT), marketing, operations, quality assurance, and sales. Visit the Find Jobs page to see what's available in your area.
Do I have to pay for the training that's provided through this program?
No. Once you join the Talent Community by creating a profile, you can take advantage of free introductory training and job readiness training if you are an entry-level candidate. These online, self-paced courses provide core concepts of building science and energy efficiency, and can help you gain valuable professional skills, such as resume writing, interpersonal communication, presentation skills, and much more. If you are hired through the Clean Energy Jobs Program and the position includes PSE&G-sponsored On-the-Job Training, you will earn a paycheck while participating in a 16 week training program that provides valuable energy efficiency skills and experience, as well as relevant certifications.
