Job Description

TRC seeks a dynamic, self-motivated individual to lead its participation in the PSE&G Clean Energy Jobs Program in New Jersey.  This role will establish, maintain compliance with, and provide reporting to meet client commitments to oversee the creation of new clean energy efficient jobs, to address the underrepresentation of diverse and/or disadvantaged communities in the energy efficient workforce and in New Jersey’s expanding clean energy economy, and to create an energy efficiency workforce that reflects the service territory.

 

The Project Manager supports a highly successful and visible statewide public benefit workforce development program. The Project Manager also plays a key role in engaging with internal stakeholders, trade allies, and clean energy businesses about clean energy and workforce development issues.

 

The position involves frequent interaction with stakeholders and program participants that may require statewide travel. The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects, and lead, direct, and coordinate the work of team members (internal and external) of varied backgrounds. This position requires flexibility; strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; and excellent customer care skills.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Support achievement of the PSE&G Clean Energy Jobs Program’s goals and performance requirements.
  • Contribute expert input to the Steering Committee and working groups, as needed.
  • Contribute to and coordinate with TRC’s internal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop public policy that promotes hiring and retention of new clean energy jobs across diverse populations and statewide geographies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure that deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
  • Develop strong partnerships with market actors, program participants, and other industry affiliates.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on progress to goals.
  • Coordinate high quality, on message, accurate, and timely follow up to inquiries from the client, internal team members, and key external constituencies
  • Use effective systems and processes to track project and/or candidate status for reporting, efficiency, and strategy purposes.
  • Implement strategies to regularly measure and communicate program results and use that information to continually improve program design.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Residency in the State of New Jersey.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 5+ years of experience within the areas of:  workforce development and training, environmental justice, green building, clean energy, and/or building science industries.
  • Passion and commitment to advance racial and economic equity in the climate tech and clean energy sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present and execute innovative ideas.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information.
  • Proven ability to successfully work within and lead diverse teams and to handle multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to anticipate needs in advance, multi-task, plan ahead, and react positively to new assignments.
  • Proven ability to build confidence and effective working relationships among individuals at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in all duties.
  • High proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with digital recruiting and/or human resource management platforms.

Work Environment

Travel:  Up to 30% within the State of New Jersey.

 

This position is based out of the TRC New Brunswick, NJ office, but is currently full-time remote due to the pandemic. TRC cares about employee health, safety, and needs.  We understand that some employees may have concerns about working in an office environment and we have taken steps to help you feel comfortable and safe.  This position is currently designated as a Work From Home (WFH) position, under the guidelines outlined in our Work From Home (WFH) Policy. WFH arrangements may be revised or discontinued at the discretion of the company.

Miscellaneous Job Information

TRC works at various Federal, State, and Local governmental agency sites and client projects that may require an employee to be vaccinated.
