Job Description

TRC seeks a Marketing Lead to develop, and manage the deployment of strategies and tactics to increase participation in New Jersey energy efficiency programs. You work collaboratively with clients and marketing partners to develop and implement marketing plans that promote energy efficiency and economic opportunities for commercial, industrial, and institutional energy consumers. Your understanding of marketing and outreach, knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies, and a passion for the energy, environmental, and economic landscape of the state combine to make you an effective voice for clean energy across New Jersey facilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a point of contact for marketing activities for the contract.
  • Collaborate with program managers, subcontractors, clients and other stakeholders to develop an annual marketing strategy and quarterly marketing plan.
  • Develop methods of gauging marketing effectiveness and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor and report progress to KPI’s on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Manage marketing subcontractor(s), including budgeting, reporting, and review of work in alignment with their scope of work and the marketing plan.
  • Collaborate with internal and external marketing teams to support content development (web, print, social media, campaigns, advertising media) while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Coordinate with statewide marketing and outreach staff to align activities, staff, and optimize resources.
  • Perform, coordinate, or oversee creation of presentations, decks, brochures, web pages, and other marketing collateral.
  • Consult with company management, product managers, sales department, and advertising agencies to develop and implement promotional plans and recommend sales philosophy, approach, and media.


  • Residency in the State of New Jersey.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • 10 years of experience, with a strong business sense for establishing structure and vision for measuring success of a field operation.
  • Strong knowledgeable of energy efficiency policy, program planning, design, and implementation.
  • Hands-on management experience in a fast-paced consulting environment with exceptional attention to detail and client service.
  • Success in developing and implementing plans and management of budgets and resources.
  • Awareness and familiarity with NJ energy efficiency landscape, related regulatory requirements, and key actors.
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communications skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to develop organizational talent and manage performance. Strong leadership, communication and demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and adhere to processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and foster culture change.

Work Environment

Travel:  Up to 25% within the State of New Jersey.

This position is based out of the TRC New Brunswick, NJ office, but is currently full-time remote due to the pandemic.  TRC cares about employee health, safety, and needs.  We understand that some employees may have concerns about working in an office environment and we have taken steps to help you feel comfortable and safe.  This position is currently designated as a Work From Home (WFH) position, under the guidelines outlined in our Work From Home (WFH) Policy. WFH arrangements may be revised or discontinued at the discretion of the company.

Miscellaneous Job Information

TRC works at various Federal, State, and Local governmental agency sites and client projects that may require an employee to be vaccinated.
