Job Description
MaGrann Associates is seeking an Electrical Designer to provide electrical design services on a variety of multifamily residential, mixed use and commercial building projects (both new construction and existing building retrofit). This position requires familiarity with the design and drafting of power distribution systems, lighting systems, communication systems, and safety systems, including collaboration with other disciplines and engineers.
The Electrical Designer reports to the Manager of Building Performance Services under the direction of the Electrical Design Engineer.
This position is based at our corporate office in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Experience with a virtual work environment would be beneficial and working from an alternate location may be considered.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs electrical load and service calculations, as well as design and layout of power distribution systems, electrical devices, light fixtures, controls and equipment.
- Produces construction documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings, renovations and additions to existing facilities.
- Performs special technical assignments and prepare reports as needed.
- Provides technical assistance to clients and associates.
- Provides administration with information for billing purposes.
- Performs initial site investigations and observations of work by installing contractor(s).
- Coordinates work with other disciplines.
- Maintains assigned project schedules
- Develops and maintains positive client relationships
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in electrical design for buildings, preferably residential
- EIT preferred, but not required
- Experience and passion for designing sustainable and high-performance buildings a plus
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
- Familiarity with Visual Lite software a plus
- Experience in on-site surveying
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license required
