Job Description

The primary focus of this position is to take the lead role on commissioning projects performing project oversight and management of supporting staff. This will include providing overall project guidance and interaction with the project team focusing on quality service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed commissioning plans for both design and construction phases
  • Perform independent design reviews of the project's specifications ions and design documents focusing on the commissioning scope of work
  • Develop and track submittal log; including equipment, O&Ms, warranties, etc.
  • Attend project meetings as deemed necessary based on the feedback from the Project Manager
  • Assist with office work such as design reviews and specification development when directed by the Project Manager
  • Provide field support as deemed necessary i.e. technical expertise required, final testing of total building systems, last check out, etc.
  • Closely manage the project support person to ensure project visits are both focused and efficient in accordance with the project budget and customer expectation
  • Clearly define goals and objectives for the project support personnel during site visits to help focus the visit and the approach to ensure the entire scope is equally evaluated
  • Manage project hours and budgets with respect to deliverables
  • Track meeting minutes to maintain a focused effort on future visits
  • Follow and guide all customer/project communication
  • Maintain a close touch and feel with all assigned projects
  • Develop and finalize commissioning record, i.e. all documentation, executive summary, etc., for review by Project Managers.
  • Cultivate and foster new client relationships
  • Develop and maintain relationships with project contacts to develop additional business and/or develop on-going relationship 

Qualifications

  • Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP) or equivalent
  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Facilities) from Maritime Academy

 

Professional Skills

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office a must
  • Exposure to AutoCad, Vision (Deltek) accounting software
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of LAB systems, construction management & testing and balancing
  • Ability to manage supporting staff
  • Strong communication skills

 

Relevant Experience

7-10 years’ experience in commissioning and construction management

Physical Abilities

Light - Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds.  Walking or standing to a significant degree, involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling.

Work Environment

Moderate - Occasionally exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise fumes, dust, etc.)
