The JPI Group, in partnership with DNV Energy Services USA Inc, is seeking an inspector. Our team supports the implementation of the utility-led Energy Efficiency Incentive programs for business customers. This position is based out of our Jersey City, NJ office.
Job Description
Based in Jersey City, New Jersey, this role supports DNV Energy System in managing PSE&G’s Midstream Program. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting client programs by verifying and inspecting projects for the Midstream (Instant Rebates) program channel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, visiting PSE&G customers’ sites to verify the installation of energy efficient equipment as detailed in rebate applications. This position is remote, and the candidate must be able to travel up to 100% of the time.
Job Responsibilities
Majority of duties and expectations, but not to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned
- Scheduling and conducting on-site and remote inspections to verify equipment installations and compliance with program rules
- Verifying project documentation is representative of the true scope of the project
- Documenting the findings and writing detailed inspection reports
- Uploading inspection results to an internal database
- Other tasks as requested by program management
Professional Skills
- Associate or bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with lighting, HVAC, commercial kitchen equipment, and other energy efficient equipment
- Proficiency in using software tools such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams
- 2+ Years of energy efficiency experience preferred (but not necessary)
- Must be a resident of the State of New Jersey
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to an automobile
- Positive, reliable, collaborative and team-oriented attitude
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in time-critical situations and be productive and self-motivated during slow periods.
Physical Abilities
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time.
- Site visits will require physical activity for extended periods of time, including but not limited to, standing, walking with occasional, climbing, kneeling, and related field work as required.
- Ability to work for an extended period with personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Use repetitive hand motion.
- Lift and carry heavy appliances up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Work Environment
- Field work may require exposure to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. This may or may not include extreme temperatures.
- Field work may expose the employee to fumes and airborne particles.
- Field work may contain potential hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to chemicals, and working in high places.
- Field Work may require work in close quarter areas such as crawl spaces, and mechanical rooms.

Location: Remote. Candidates expected to travel of up to 100% of the time.

Salary: $71,000 per annum
