Job Description

Customer-oriented professional, hired to perform residential visual energy assessments called Quick Home Energy Check-ups in accordance with program requirements, exceed customer expectations, and maximize impact to customer in regards to access to energy efficiency, comfort and safety.

Job Responsibilities

As a Building Analyst, the Employee is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner.

a. Provide service in accordance with partner program requirements, exceed customer expectations, and maximize impact to customer in regards to access to energy efficiency, comfort and safety.

b. Conduct at least 30 per week quick home energy check-ups (QHECs) in residential homes, entering attics, basements and crawl spaces. The QHECs include determining insulation levels in both attics and walls, conducting visual checks of age and condition of HVAC equipment and ducts, and installing compact fluorescent lamps, water conservation devices, and other direct install measures at no cost to the customer as defined by program.

c. Complete an energy use data collection form to capture home data and generate list of recommended retrofits and programs. All required program data must be tracked in an accurate and timely manner.

d. Provide proper and timely reporting of program progress to stakeholders (i.e. homeowner and EZ Green Home)

e. Interact with homeowners, answer questions regarding energy efficiency and how it applies to their home.

f. Encourage homeowners to undertake specific QHEC energy saving measures recommended based on the home energy audit. Explain incentives for energy efficiency improvements that may be available, and install all applicable efficiency improvement measures according to homeowners’ wants and needs.

g. Encourage homeowners to take advantage of a comprehensive Home Performance energy audit and solar.

h. Stay current on latest program initiatives, policies, procedures, etc. and develop advanced technical knowledge in energy efficiency and building science. 

i. Other duties as may arise from time to time and as may be assigned to the employee.

Basic Requirements

  • High School Diploma 

  • Strong self-sufficiency, interpersonal skill, and customer service 

  • BPI Analyst certification – if not certified, training and certification will be provided.  

Preferred Skills

  • Enthusiasm for energy conservation, home performance, and making an impact for homeowners. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and program concepts to customers 

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Employees are expected to work five days per week Monday through Friday from 8am – 5pm.

Salary

This position is commission only, $20 - $25 per completed QHEC appointment, based on experience and other factors.  A full schedule of appointments will be provided each week (25-35 appointments on average).
