Job Description

TRC seeks an Outreach Specialist to support the success of commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs. This position is responsible for direct interaction and energy efficiency project management for large accounts in New Jersey. You will actively engage existing and potential customers and to analyze energy efficiency projects, contribute to the preparation and implementation of sales plans and campaigns and provides marketing intelligence to the larger team. 

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase participation in the energy efficiency programs.
  • Coordinate and oversee account managers serving commercial efficiency projects and customers.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Engineering/Tech Support, Marketing, Operations, and New Jersey utility customers and their consultants/trade allies.
  • Identify market opportunities for new energy-efficient end-use technologies.
  • Act as liaison and presenter/public speaker at public industry events.
  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with industry organizations, trades, and trade allies.
  • Report and forecast program participation and progress to goals.
  • Manage budgets and perform resource planning.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Residency in the State of New Jersey.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Three years or more experience in commercial energy efficiency sales, program design or implementation.
  • Exceptional customer sensitivity and commitment to customer satisfaction. Familiarity with the range of technical, customer, and competitive regulatory, political and environmental issues inherent in the delivery of energy efficiency programs.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and motivate teams to achieve goals while maintaining program integrity
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communications skills; outgoing and positive public speaker/presenter. 
  • Awareness and familiarity with NJ energy efficiency landscape, related regulatory requirements, and key actors
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability and license to operate a motor vehicle.

Professional Skills

Competitive applicants will demonstrate:

  • Interest in promoting energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Awareness of approaches to building decarbonization technologies and solutions.
  • Experience working in a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system environment to manage customers and projects. 
  • Advanced aptitude for the Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Experience in field visits to commercial and/or industrial customers.

Work Environment

Travel:  Up to 50% within the State of New Jersey.
